Program
We believe in mixed-age learning, where older children take on mentoring roles and younger children thrive through observation and imitation. The Woodland Preschool consists of one mixed-age class, and we aim for balanced enrollment across our three age groups: Hedgehogs, Squirrels, and Foxes.
Hedgehogs
2-3 years old
Children who are 2 years old and turn 3 during the school year
Squirrels
3-4 years old
Children who are 3 years old by September 30th and turn 4 during the school year
Foxes: Pre-K
4-5 years old
Children who are 4 years old by September 30th and turn 5 during the school year
Our Daily Schedule
8:30-9:00 AM
Drop-off window and gathering in our outdoor space
9:00-9:30 AM
Morning snack
9:30-11:30 AM
Exploration in our outdoor space or woodland adventures in the adjacent forest. At 10:30, we sit down for circle time, which includes singing, the daily calendar, weather observations, story time, music, and structured learning activities
11:30 AM-1:00 PM
Hygiene routine followed by lunch. As children finish eating they go play. Once all children are done eating their lunch, we transition indoors
Friday pick-up window is 12:20-12:30 PM
1:00-3:30 PM
- Nap Room -
All children under the age of 3.5 years will have nap time in the nap room and may sleep until 3:00 PM. Once a child is 3.5 years or older, parents may choose whether their child naps in the nap room or the creativity room
-Creativity Room -
Nap time in the creativity room ends at 2:00 PM, followed by structured indoor learning activities until 3:30 PM. Every week teachers plan themed activities

Curriculum
We blend academic foundations with social-emotional learning to support the whole child. Children explore math, science, language, and the arts through hands-on, play-based activities that encourage curiosity and growth.

Each week features a new theme explored through stories, crafts, and group learning. Activities include sensory play, cooking, gardening, arts, crafts and outdoor play. Our program is designed to ensure your child will be ready for kindergarten– we will help them build the skills and confidence needed for a smooth transition.

Summer Camp
The summer camp schedule will be released in Spring 2026. All children currently enrolled at Woodland Preschool are guaranteed a spot, and families are welcome to join for as many or as few weeks as they'd like.
